Tragic death in Massey - Waitakere City

A 15 month old baby has died in Massey, Waitakere City, when a brick wall collapsed and fell on the baby.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation at about 11.00am this morning, but nothing could be done to save the baby.

Police are still in attendance at the scene, and are trying to establish how the brick wall came to collapse. The initial indications are that the wall was not struck by anything, but simply collapsed and tragically landed on the on the baby.
