Oamaru stabbing victim named

Police are now able to release the name of the 16 year old youth killed in the stabbing in Exe Street, Oamaru.

He is William Peter Lewis, aged 16 years, who was living in the Oamaru area.

The family request privacy at this time, however they will be releasing a photo to Police later today that they would like the media to use; rather than a facebook or other photos that the media may try and access.

The alleged offender will be appearing the Oamaru court at 3.00pm today.
