Teller thwarts would be robbers
An attempt to rob the PSIS in Ronwood Ave in Manukau was thwarted this afternoon, when an alert teller saw the offenders approaching the bank doors, and activated the locking system.
Two offenders, with faces covered, tried briefly to open the door, before leaving and getting into a near by car.
The car had two other people in it, and quickly left. It was located parked near by a short time later, and enquires revealed that it was a stolen car.
Security footage from the bank is being analysed, and it is believed that good images of the offenders will have been captured, and will be able to be released tomorrow.
If anybody has information or can assist police in respect of this attempted robbery, they can contact the Counties Manukau CIB on 027 497 4912.
