Hutt City library customers can now receive a free email reminder two days before their library item is due, to help them return or renew their items on time.

The initiative follows feedback from borrowers and libraries customer service manager Philip Casey describes it as a “win win”.

“Our customers have busy lives and they’ve asked for email reminders as a way of making it easier to keep track of their library items.

“Plus it reduces our printed postal reminders so it's better for the environment too.”

It’s easy to sign up for email reminders, as well as notifications when reserves are ready or items overdue.

Just log in to www.library.huttcity.govt.nz or contact your local library on 570 6666.

All borrowers who currently get email library notices will automatically receive these new reminders and, if needed, they can also renew items on the library website.
