Counties Manukau Police are seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery at PSIS bank in Ronwood Avenue, Manukau yesterday afternoon.

Counties Manukau Detective Inspector Mark Gutry said, "At about 4.30pm on Tuesday, 6 April 2010 four males parked outside the PSIS bank in Ronwood Avenue in Manukau. The males arrived in a gold coloured Nissan Maxima, registration RO4875, which had been reported stolen from the New World car park in Papatoetoe an hour earlier".

"Two males got out of the vehicle and one of the males, carrying a red/orange sports bag, walked through the first set of doors into the entrance of the bank."

"The second set of entry doors was locked. Unable to gain access to the bank both males returned to the stolen vehicle and drove off. This vehicle was later located in The Warehouse car park in Cavendish Drive, Manukau."

Police are investigating whether this latest incident may also be linked to Operation King, an investigation being conducted into a recent series of aggravated robberies within the greater Auckland area.

If you recognise either of the males depicted or have any information that may assist in this investigation or Operation King please contact Counties Manukau Police Crime Squad on (09) 261 1300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
