Waikato Museum visitors will have the chance to learn the secrets of the second most successful Guinness World Record breaker of the last decade, when two shows are held at the facility next Wednesday [14 April].

Alastair Galpin successfully broke the second highest number of Guinness World Records for the decade 2000-2009 – boasting records for everything from the loudest clap and the most ‘finger snaps’ in one minute, to the most socks worn, the longest hair extension and the most radio interviews in 24 hours.

Waikato Museum director Kate Vusoniwailala said the public will be able to hear all about Galpin’s record-breaking adventures and try their hand at challenging him in a record breaking activity during his two 90-minute shows at the museum next Wednesday at 11am and 2pm.

“Alastair has achieved so many exciting and unusual feats in the past 10 years, so these shows promise to be very interesting and may even inspire others to attempt a world record of their own,” she said.

Adult, children, family and concession passes are available for the shows, with bookings recommended.
