Mount Roskill homicide

Avondale CIB have a launched a homicide investigation into the death of a middle aged man who died after an attack at a Mt Roskill address late this afternoon.

Police were called to the May Road address by ambulance staff shortly before 4pm. The man was taken to Auckland Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene has been cordoned off and police will get underway with a forensic examination tomorrow.

The mans body will undergo a post-mortem examination in the morning.

He has not been formally identified and Police are in the process of notifying his next of kin.

Two people who were at the address when Police arrived are assisting with the investigation but officers want to speak with anyone else who was at the property anytime today.
