Veterinary Clinic Robbed at Knifepoint

MANUKAU CITY

Counties Manukau Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that took place in Mangere Bridge last night.

At around 7.55pm a man entered a veterinary clinic in Coronation Road, Mangere Bridge.

At the time of the incident there were six people in the clinic.

Counties Manukau Detective Senior Sergeant Jason Malcolm says, "One woman was in the reception area of the clinic when a man approached the counter and threatened her with a large knife. He demanded money from the till. The woman emptied money from the till into the man's backpack. The man then left the clinic on foot."

"The victim ran to get help from other staff members and Police were called to the scene."

The offender is described as:

Pacific Islander
Spoke with a Maori or similar accent
17-18 years
5' 10"
Brown bushy eyebrows
Patchy, discoloured cheeks
Wearing: Black or dark coloured hooded sweatshirt, long pants, with a small black back pack with two front pockets with zips.
