Tuckers Road medical response - Redwood, Christchurch

Emergency services responded to an incident in Redwood in Christchurch this afternoon, where they held concerns for the welfare of a middle-aged male.

Shortly after 2:30p.m. Police Officers arrived at the Tuckers Road address and attempted to speak with the male, when they became suspicious that toxic fumes were present inside the address.

Nearby Northcote School was advised as a precaution as students were due to leave for the day.

The Fire Service and St Johns Ambulance attended and it was quickly ascertained that the substance noted was of no risk to any members of the public.

The male was assisted and provided with medical attention.
