DUNEDIN

10pm -- Police are experiencing major disorder in Dunedin with students at present.

A multitude of fires have been lit and vehicles damaged.

Police have had bottles thrown at them as they have attempted to disperse the crowds of drunken student.

Police have called Staff in from outlying station to bolster their numbers.

Police have at this stage started to disperse the crowds and it appears to be setting down at this stage.

Fire staff have been stretched attempting to deal with numerous fires.
