Missing French Canadian Tramper

Acting Senior Sergeant Brent Cook of Greymouth Police stated that police are able to confirm the body located in the Copland Pass area south of Fox Glacier is that of missing French Canadian tramper Sorem KVIST.

The matter was not suspicious and had been referred to the coroner

Contact with relatives of Mr KVIST had been made through the Canadian Embassy and arrangements were being made for him to be returned to his family.

A Post Mortem had been completed with an inquest into the incident to be held at a later date
