Hastings Police Commence Homicide investigation

Hastings police have commenced a homicide investigation after being called to a Gordon Road, Hastings, address at about 8. 20 pm Tuesday 11th May 2010

Police responded to a report that a 23 year old man had collapsed after an alleged assault. Ambulance personal were in attendance however they were unable to revive the man. The cause of death is not known at this time

There were a number of people at the scene at the time. Two men were arrested at the scene and charged with assault. CIB members have commenced a scene examination and interviewing witnesses. No charges will be laid in relation to the homicide until a forensic examination and post mortem have taken place.
