Fatal crash in Canterbury

At about 06.30am on Sunday 26th August at Leeston a four wheel drive vehicle with five occupants lost control and left the road.

The vehicle collided with a power pole on the outskirts of Leeston township.

One passenger received moderate injuries and one passenger died as a result of the accident.

The deceased person is a female aged 24 years from Leeston.

Leeston Police are continuing with inquiries into the cause of the accident.
