OAMARU

The motorcyclist killed in a crash on Thursday morning north of Oamaru has been named as Thomas Alec Fry aged 18 years.

Police investigating the crash are appealing for public help to identify a Nissan Skyline car.

We are now confident that the car found burnt out on Horse Gully road on Thursday morning is linked to the crash scene on the State Highway and are keen to talk to those who were using it.

We would also like to talk to anyone who may have seen the Skyline travelling on State Highway 1 north of Omaru.

We believe the Skyline was coming from the north although we do not know where it was coming from. Equally we know that it has left the crash scene and travelled to Horse Gully Road.

If you were in the Oamaru area and saw a light coloured Skyline between 3 and 6 am we would like to hear from you.

We would also like to talk to anyone who has seen a light coloured Nissan Skyline on the State Highway north of Oamaru in the early hours of Thursday morning. It does not matter how far you may be from Oamaru if you saw such a car on the road we need to hear from you.

A young man is dead: we want to work out how this happened and we believe that the occupants of the skyline can help us do so.
