Tauranga man dies in hunting accident

"Tauranga Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 59 year old Tauranga man on Sunday evening.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said that the man and 2 relations were hunting turkeys on a remote rural block south of Te Puke.

The cause of death has not been established and it is anticipated that a post mortem examination will be conducted on Monday."
