"Emma left the Shell Service Station in Riccarton Road at about 5.35 am on Saturday 1 May after she bought petrol for her car.

The car was first noticed at about 7.15 am off the road and down the bank in Dyers Pass Road by a man in a vehicle. Emma's car had no one in it or around it though her personal possessions were there.

"We are pleased to have received calls from a few people who had been in the area about this time.

One such person was driving down the road from the Sign of the Kiwi at about 6.30 - 6.40 am that morning," said Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae, "As the driver came around a bend in the road she saw the car ahead of her had its reversing lights on. She stopped her car behind it but was able to pass when the car that had been reversing up the hill indicated that she should."

"The driver described the rear of the car that had been reversing as being square shaped. It was of average size but not a hatch-back or a station-wagon. It was a light coloured car. The rear window was not tinted and she did not see any stickers on the rear window.

There were two people in the car and the passenger seemed to be looking out over the city."

Police would like contact from the two people in the car to speak with them and find out whether they may have seen anything that may help in their quest to find Emma and what has happened to her.

Police can be contacted through the Southern Communications Centre on 3637 400 and messages left for Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae."
