Take care on roads - SI

Police are advising motorists in lower South Island to take care and drive to the conditions. Widespread flooding, surface water and snow throughout the area have resulted in poor driving conditions. Land slips and erosion are causing further hazards for motorists

There are numerous road closures and detours in the area, and people should check that they are able to reach their destination.

Police are appealing to motorists to use common sense, respect warning signs and drive to the conditions.
