Flooding - Hawkes Bay area

As a result of heavy rain in the Hawkes Bay, police are receiving numerous calls of flooding / slips / etc in particular in the Napier area.

One street on Hospital Hill, Napier ( Faraday St ) has had a major slip. A significant amount of debris has fallen onto the road destroying a parked vehicle. Sewage pipes have been left exposed.

Faraday Street has been closed to vehicle traffic and at least 4 residential properties have had to be evacuated. Civil Defence have been advised.

Other reports have been received of roads becoming impassable, vehicles becoming stuck in flooding etc etc.
