Gisborne - Crash

Police are currently at the scene of a serious vehicle crash on State Highway 35 (Wainui Road) near Gisborne.

The head-on crash between two cars occurred shortly after 10.00am and has forced the closure of the road while the serious crash team conduct a scene examination.

The road is expected to be closed for up to two hours and Police are advising motorists to avoid the area or face lengthy delays, as there are no diversions in place due to the location of the crash.

There is no information currently available on the condition of the injured parties.
