Homicide Victim Named

Henderson Police have released the name of the woman who died as a result of a homicide at a West Auckland address last night. She was:

MARRINER / Susan Ann
DOB 4/12/1963 – Age 46 years
Single - Resident of Henderson

The body of the deceased was located by police soon after their arrival at a Henderson address at about 11.06pm last night Tuesday 8 June 2010. As a result of the discovery a homicide investigation was commenced and a 30 year old male was arrested soon after.

The man has appeared in the Waitakere District Court today on a charge of murder. He has been remanded in custody for a further appearance on 24 June 2010.

CIB investigators supported by forensic experts are continuing a forensic scene examination of the house and property where the body of the murder victim was found.

An area canvas has been carried out. Police are interviewing witnesses, associates of all the parties involved, and local residents living nearby.

A post-mortem examination will be held tomorrow. There are 20 police staff actively engaged in the murder enquiries. A scene cordon remains in place at the address. Police are not seeking anyone else.
