Cyclist in hospital after crash with bus

At 17:05 hrs, a crash occurred between a bus and a cyclist in Weatherly Road, Torbay.

An investigation has commenced into the cause of the crash and initial indications were that the cyclist turned across the path of a following bus.

The 14 year old male cyclist, who was not wearing a cycle helmet at the time, was taken to Starship Hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic had to be diverted for a short period of time and the road is now reopened.
