Fatal Mt Hutt crash

At about 3:41am this morning police attended the scene of a single fatality vehicle crash on the Mount Hutt Ski field Road.

Initial enquiries revealed the vehicle has been travelling down the hill and has left the road.

The vehicle was located at the bottom of a steep gully and the deceased located nearby.

Police are in the process of notifying next of kin.

Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash. Updates will be available when further details are ascertained.

The road is open but care is needed.
