UPDATE AS AT 1.30PM (19/06)

Police are seekking information in relation to the same crash which occurred last night in Onehunga.

Shortly after 10.00pm, a Nissan Pulsar crashed into a house in Arthur St and one or more occupants have run from this vehicle.

This person/s have been picked by a second vehicle at the time travelling with this vehicle. The car had been stolen shortly before from Watea Rd in Mt Roskill.

Three other occupants were found in the car, one deceased and two remaining females aged 16 and 17 years. Police have yet to identify the deceased female.

Police are seeking information leading to the identity of the other vehicles and persons that have run from the stolen car. The person/s that have run from the vehicle may have noticeable injuries and may require medical attention. Police are concerned for their welfare.

INITIAL RELEASE.

Police are attending the scene of a fatal crash in Arthur Street, Onehunga.

The crash, involving a stolen car with five occupants, occurred around 10.10pm this evening, Friday 18 June 2010.

One person appears to have died at the scene and two others have been taken to Auckland hospital in serious but stable condition. Their injuries cannot be confirmed at this stage.

No details regarding the deceased are available at this time.

The street will remain closed, between Quadrant and Normans Hill Roads, with detours in place until a scene examination has been completed.

The Auckland Serious Crash Unit is conducting the crash investigation and any further releases will be made through their office.
