HIT and RUN Crash

Levin police are appealing to members of the public for information in relation to a hit and run accident that occurred on Roosevelt Street, Levin on Thursday the 1st July at about 5:50 p.m.

A vehicle has been travelling east along Roosevelt Street towards Queenwood Road. According to witnesses it swerved to avoid hitting a parked truck but continued to cross into the opposing lane hitting another car travelling in the opposite direction.

The offending car has failed to stop and driven off at speed into Queenwood Road then left into Middlesex Street.

The occupants of the car that was hit were shaken but not injured. Their car sustained considerable damage.

The offender's car will have damage to its front right corner including a smashed headlight.

It was described as a light coloured older model saloon.
