Between 7.30pm and 8.30pm last night a Silver Toyota Previa Station Wagon was broken into whilst it was parked at the rear of the La Porchetta restaurant on Lincoln Road in Henderson.

The vehicle was used by the New South Wales Under 16 Girls State Water Polo team.

Taken from the vehicle were 5 distinctive backpacks. They are blue in colour with a white logo embroider with the letters NSWWPI on the front of them.

Also taken was what has been described as a pink "Running Bear" gear bag.

The contents of these bags included the girls wallets, digital cameras, memory sticks plus in excess of Australian $1500.

Also taken were their cosmetics, clothing and souvenirs.

The girls are all extremely upset about what has happened to them.

They are due to fly out of New Zealand at 0630 am tomorrow 8th July.

Police are appealing to anyone who has knowledge of this offence to contact the Police so as that the property can be recovered and returned to the girls.

They are not worried about the cash but are more concerned about having their other property returned.

Police are also appealing to the members of the public for assistance in locating these backpacks. Any information that will help in the recovery of this property can be reported the Henderson Police 8390600 in the first instance.
