North Shore Man Arrested For Murder
Police investigating the death of a 43 year old woman in a suspicious house fire in the North Shore suburb of Glenfield last month, have arrested and charged a man with her murder.
The body of Jacqueline BLACKBOURN was discovered inside a burning house at an address in View Road, Glenfield, on Saturday 26 June 2010
A male was located nearby suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
Police say as a result of their investigations a 28 year old male, has been arrested and charged with murder and arson.
The sickness beneficiary is further charged with historical offences that relate to another female complainant. These charges include.
1 x Injuring with intent to Injure [Penalty - five years imprisonment]
2 x Assault with intent to injure [Penalty – three years imprisonment]
1 x Assault with a weapon [Penalty - five years imprisonment]
1 x Intentional Damage [Penalty – seven years imprisonment]
The man is to appear in the North Shore District Court later this afternoon.
Police will make no further comment on this arrest.
