Robbery - Blenheim

At approximately 4.45pm on Monday 19th July 2010 a male entered the Scott Street Branch of New Zealand Post, Blenheim. He spent some time in the premises before approaching a teller and demanding money.

At the time of the robbery the PostShop was busy with customers.

Bank staff managed to alert the police who were quickly on the scene. The police officers managed to remove all customers from the PostShop before apprehending the offender without a struggle.

No one was injured in the robbery and no money was taken.

A 51 year old Blenheim man will appear in the Blenheim District Court to face charges in relation to the incident
