LOWER HUTT

Lower Hutt Police are continuing to investigate the disappearance of Lower Hutt man Frank De Jong.

Francis De Jong (known as Frank De Jong) was last seen in the CBD in Lower Hutt on the afternoon of Tuesday 6 July 2010.

Detective Mike Tohill of the Lower Hutt Police says, "We now believe Mr De Jong has travelled as far as Auckland and his vehicle has been seen parked on The Strand in Takapuna on Wednesday 14 July 2010. However in the time since this sighting he could have travelled further north or back towards Lower Hutt, so we are keeping our options open at this stage as we continue our enquiries."

Detective Tohill says Police have concerns for Mr De Jong's mental well-being and are urging anyone who may have seen him to phone Police immediately.

"Mr De Jong is 45 years of age, European, of solid build and brown hair. He may have a beard by now. He has distinctive medieval tattoos on his upper arms."

He may be driving a silver 1996 Toyota Hiace van, registration UK1860. The van has the words 'Satisfaction Guaranteed' written in red on the rear panel.

Mike Tohill says anyone with information should phone Lower Hutt Police immediately on (04) 560 2600 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
