Police name motorcyclist killed in road crash

A motorcyclist killed yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 22 August) has been named as Stephen Robert Armstrong, aged 38 from Midhurst.

The crash happened at approximately 12.50pm on Beaconsfield Road, Stratford. Mr Armstrong was riding his Norton motorcycle along Beaconsfield Road from Midhurst. A Toyota ute was travelling in the opposite direction and then attempted a right turn into Stanley Road across the path of Mr Armstrong.

Mr Armstrong died at the scene after attempts by both Fire and Ambulance staff to administer CPR. The 59-year-old male driver of the ute was unhurt.

The crash is being investigated by the Serious Crash Investigation Unit.
