Detective Senior Sergeant HARVEY states that the enquiry team is anticipating to interview the 22 year old driver of the vehicle today.

He will still be appearing at the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday, 31 August 2010, on the disqualified driving charge.

It is not known at this stage when and what other charges will be laid.

Detective Senior Sergeant HARVEY states that a number of witnesses have come forward regarding the pursuit and subsequent crash between a blue Ford Mondeo and a red Daihatsu Terios, and those persons have been spoken to. He believes that there maybe others out there who may have witnessed the pursuit and crash, and he asks them to contact the Christchurch Central Police Station on 363 7400.
