Porirua Police have stepped up their investigations into a serial indecency offender around the Tawa and Linden areas.

Police now have six confirmed reports of indecent exposure and two reports of showing pornographic images to boys between the ages of 12 and 16 years.

Detective Terry Laws of Porirua CIB says the incidents have occurred at Linden and Tawa Railway Stations with another near Tawa College.

He says the latest incident occurred on Saturday 11th September at Linden Railway Station around 4pm. The victim was a 12 year-old male who was approached by the offender and shown pornographic images on the offender's cell phone.

"Police are growing concerned about this offending and we're doing everything we can to locate this offender. These incidents have been very scary for the victims involved and we need help from the community to identify this man."

He is described as a male European aged between 30 and 50 years of medium build, often wearing dark clothing. On six occasions he has been wearing a black beanie.

Detective Laws says Police have notified schools in the area to ensure the community remains vigilant and reports anyone fitting the description or acting suspiciously in these areas.

"Police want to locate this man before his behaviour escalates into something more sinister."

Anyone with information should contact Detective Laws at the Porirua Police Station on (04) 238 1421.
