Waitemata - Mairangi Bay

Motorists in the Mairangi Bay area of the North Shore will need to expect some traffic delays from around midday today, due to a funeral procession that will be taking place.

The body of Major (Ret.) Maurice Stanley will be transported by gun carriage from the Mairangi Bay Presbyterian Church in Hastings Road (entrance off Penzance Rd) along the route of Penzance Road, Beach Road, and along Ramsgate Terrace to the Mairangi Bowling Club.

The distance involved is about 700 metres, and will pass through the Mairangi Bay shopping centre.

A 21 gun salute will also take place at midday.
