White powder located in Upper Hutt yesterday was flour

Further testing by ESR has confirmed the white powder found inside an envelope at a data processing centre in Wallaceville yesterday was flour.

Emergency services were called to Lane Street around 9:15am yesterday morning, after a staff member discovered the package.

Senior Sergeant Dave Rose says testing by ESR scientists overnight has confirmed the exact nature of the white powder as flour.

Police are continuing their inquiries to identify the person or people responsible for the package.
