Wind warning for Arthurs Pass

Police warn motorists, driving high-sided trucks and caravans (to these vehicles only), that SHW 73 from Arthurs Pass to Springfield is closed to due to strong north-west winds being experienced in the area.

Police urge motorists to drive to the conditions, increase their following distances and take extra care if passing heavy vehicles. The gusty weather conditions are expected to continue through to tomorrow.
