BMX Test teams named to take on Australia

BMX New Zealand has selected the following teams to compete against Australia in the Mighty 11 Test in Rotorua next month.

New Zealand will be looking to extend their record after beating Australia on their home turf earlier this year.

The test series will take place as part of the North Island BMX Championships to be held in Rotorua on 23-24 October.

The teams are:

BMXNZ Mighty 11 team: Kieran Ngatai (Tauranga) captain, Richard Levis (Tauranga), Lewis Smith (Gisborne), Billy Meaclem (Christchurch City), Liam McDermott (Tauranga). Coach: Clive Telford (New Plymouth). Manager: Ces Hill (New Plymouth)

BMXNZ Scholarship Girls: Shania Rawson (Tauranga) captain, Rayner Jackson (North Avon Christchurch), Julia Carter-Bell (Whangarei).

BMXNZ Test Teams:
Male: Luke Roguski (Tauranga) captain, Cody Hobbs (Te Awamutu), Matthew Tew (Rotorua), Ryan Berney (North Harbour).

Female: Monique Smith (Gisborne) captain, Shannon Alexander (Christchurch City), Tahlia Hansen (Rangiora), Grace Campbell (New Plymouth).

Coach: Malcolm McOnie (Te Awamutu).
