Police confirm ID of body

Police now confirm the body found in Birkenhead Wharf is that of 87 year old Korean man Hoo Kim.

Mr Kim was last seen at his home address in Ellen Ave, Hillcrest, on Tuesday 26 October 2010 around 3.00pm.

His body was found early this afternoon by members of the public onboard the Birkenhead Ferry and others present at the wharf.

Police say the death has now been referred to the Coroner.

Mr Kim's next of kin have been informed and ask to have their privacy respected at this time.
