Gas main rupture in Takapuna

A 4 inch gas main has ruptured in Lake Rd., Takapuna.

As a result there is a full closure of Lake Rd between Rewiti Ave and Ewen St.

Traffic will be diverted down Rewiti Ave., to William St and up Ewen St.

Devonport traffic will be diverted from Harley Rd to Eldon St and onto Esmonde Rd.

No evacuation of residents will be necessary.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
