Bringing together some of New Zealand music’s elite, the highly anticipated debut album from Svelte is set for release on Monday 22 November.

Formed by Supergroove members Tim Stewart and Ben Sciascia with drummer Jamie Woolright (the son of legendary bassist Paul Woolright of Ticket and Hello Sailor fame), and produced by Supergroove bandmate, Dr Karl Stevens, Cat’s Paw may have been two years in the making, but it’s well worth the wait.

Listeners can expect tracks ranging from rhythm ‘n’ blues-based stomp ‘n’ roll, similar to the group’s debut single ‘Grind Your Bones’, through to atmospheric tracks which feature everything from the howling winds on a cold tin roof to the traffic of Auckland’s Balmoral Road and even the sound of a vinyl seat.

In celebration of the album’s release, Svelte have taken up residency at Tabac bar in Auckland for the month of December. With all the shows being put on for free, this is the perfect opportunity to check out the band live before purchasing their debut album.

The three piece have played regular shows in Auckland and Wellington over the past 6 years with bands such as The Exponents, The Bads, OdESSA, and Die! Die! Die!

They have also performed live on National Radio's ‘Home Grown’, 95BFM's 'Fancy New Band' and the group's 2009 debut single, 'Grind Your Bones' featured in the Top 40 New Zealand single charts.

The video for 'Grind Your Bones' was discovered by major German publishing house Gestalten and was published in their 2010 book (and DVD), 'Papercraft'. Search for ‘Grind Your Bones’ on YouTube and see Svelte live at the following venues over November and December:
