Police in attendance at fatal crash

Putaruru Police are in attendance at a fatal vehicle crash.

Shortly after 9.30pm tonight police were told of a collision between a milk tanker and a car 6 kilometres north of Tirau on SH27.

One person has died as a result of injuries sustained. A second person is being flown to hospital. The road is closed.

Diversions are in place at SH1 and 27 in the south. In the north diversions are at  SH27 and SH29.

Serious crash investigators are making their way to the scene.
