Two 16-year-olds charged with arson

At about 2.30am on Sunday the 14th of November 2010 Police and Fire emergency services were called to the Arson of a utility shed on an empty section in Water Street, Kaitangata.

The shed was well ablaze and was endangering foliage surrounding it.

The shed was totally destroyed by the fire.

Police spoke to a group of 5 youths nearby that contained suspects for the Arson.

As a result of enquiries two 16 year old Kaitangata Youths have been arrested and charged with Arson.

They have also admitted to the Arson of a 1987 Honda Accord motor vehicle at a Kaitangata address on the 2nd of November 2010.

The two youths are currently in custody and will be appearing in the Balclutha Youth Court tomorrow morning.
