Tree blocks road - SH25, Te Puru

SH25, the Thames Coast Road, is impassable after a falling tree has brought live power lines down across both lanes 10kms north of Thames at Te Puru.

Contractors ten minutes from the scene but it is not known how long the road will take to clear.

There is significant traffic build-up in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

A further release will be made when the lines have been cleared
