Fatal crash on SHW 96

At 0920 this morning (Wednesday) there was a fatal crash on SHW 96 and Edgerton Road, Southland.
This involved a truck and trailer unit and a tractor.

One male has been confirmed as deceased and he was the driver of the tractor.

Power lines were brought down with the truck and trailer unit catching fire.
Emergency services at still at the scene.

SHW96 is closed with the diversion being via Deveraux Rd.  Edgerton Road is closed north and south.  Florence Road is closed at SHW96

The death has been referred to the coroner
