Botany Town Centre Expands Retail Offer Ahead of Christmas
In time for the busy Christmas season, Botany Town Centre is adding to its plethora of retailers with several new food and health and beauty providers. The new stores mean more options for food-lovers and those seeking pampering and relaxation, and complement a number of existing stores that are a favourite with shoppers at the popular East Auckland centre.
The Christmas season heralds the arrival of popular Mexican restaurant Mexicali Fresh, leading book and stationery purveyor Paper Plus, Lin Lin Chinese Massage (perfect for working out those Christmas stress points!), Kess Hair and Beauty, Hair Rehab, the handmade natural cosmetics and bath products chain Lush, and, in the foodcourt, Sushi Plus.
Senior Centre Manager Jennifer Andrews said Botany Town Centre was intent on being a retail leader and bringing the latest eateries, specialty stores and health and beauty providers to East Auckland. “We are delighted that the centre has more to offer its shoppers. These are desirable retailers and service providers that will appeal to all customers, young and old, and they expand our offer even further.”
The new Mexicali Fresh restaurant in Town Square is just the third of the popular chain’s outlets in New Zealand – the restaurants on Princes Wharf and Nuffield Street opened in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Mexicali Fresh’s mission is to provide fresh, healthy Mexican food with quick and friendly service.
The founders and owners moved here from their native United States six years ago to launch ‘the Mexican evolution in New Zealand’ and offer a delicious selection of nachos, tacos, quesadillas and other Mexican delicacies, complemented by a range of margaritas, tequila and imported Mexican beer.
Owner Conor Kerlin says the choice of Botany Town Centre was an easy one, given the centre’s location and customer base. “The feedback from customers, and the data from our email newsletter and loyalty programme, told us that we already had a huge number of customers who live in East Auckland, and in the short time we’ve been at Botany we’ve had an amazing response from customers and all the people who work at the centre.”
For those with different tastes, Sushi Plus is a new addition to the foodcourt, having moved from a separate store at another location in the centre.
Those seeking book or stationery gifts this Christmas are now spoilt for choice: the addition of Paper Plus to the centre, in Garden Lane, means customers can browse the book sections at both Whitcoulls and Paper Plus when contemplating Christmas gifts or holiday reading.
Also in Garden Lane is LinLin Chinese Massage, which opened in September to provide a variety of Chinese massage treatments to weary shoppers in need of restorative therapy; and, next to Robert Harris, the handmade natural cosmetics and bath products store Lush, where Christmas goodies and scented treats abound.
Two hairdressers round out the new health and beauty offering, having arrived in time to supply holiday-party pampering and beautifying: Kess Hair and Beauty, on Town Centre Drive, and Hair Rehab, located on Crescent Lane.
