Fatal Crash - Lindis pass

Emergency services attended the scene of a fatal head on collision on State Highway 8 in the Lindis Pass at about 1.30pm this afternoon.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident which killed one male and injured three other persons.

The injured parties have been flown to Dunedin Hospital for treatment.

The deceased male has not yet been identified and no other details will be released until next of kin have been advised.

A member of the serious crash unit as well as staff from Cromwell, Alexandra, Oamaru and Omarama attended the scene.

The State Highway was closed for approximately four hours and has now reopened.
