The Police are advising motorists on the Coromandel Peninsula and in particular around Whitianga that there are areas of flooding, slippages and trees down in the general area. Motorists are advised to restrict travel in and around these areas and to exercise caution if travel is essential.

The North Western Motorway [SH16] in Auckland has one lane flooded City bound between Patiki Road and Waterview. Traffic is presently being diverted off at Te Atatu and diverted through to Gt North Road.

Northern Motorway [Northshore] City bound has been diverted off at Esmonde Road and back on at Onewa Road. Tidal debris is the cause of this closure.

Tamaki Drive has presently been closed at Ngapipi Road, diversion are in place. The incoming tide isresponsible for this, which at present is crashing over the seawall in areas.
