Man in custody following Temuka incident

A 19-year-old man has been taken into custody following an incident in Temuka this morning.

Local Police and the Timaru armed offenders squad responded to reports of an assault in Whitcombe Street just prior to midday.

Following negotiations between Police and the offender, the man agreed to come out of the house and surrendered to Police.

He has been taken into custody and is expected to face charges relating to the incident.

A female has been treated by ambulance staff at the scene for stab wounds to the face. Her injuries are not described as serious.
