Entries for the 2011 Central Otago Awards are now open. These awards are about celebrating the skills and talents in our local communities and recognising those who have made a significant contribution to the vitality of this Central Otago.
This year people also have an extra month to enter compared to previous years. Council’s brand manager Shirley Howden said, “Having the extra time hopefully will encourage people to getting started on their nominations or entries now, rather than leaving it to the last minute.”
Award categories that people can enter or be nominated for include; Brand Ambassador, Business Excellence, Tourism, Community Services, also two Apprentice award categories which include Most Developing Potential and Overall Excellence and also three Youth Award categories for Leadership and Community Service, Culture and Enterprise.
Nomination forms are available from the Council office, all Service Centres, Libraries and Information Centres and on the brand website – www.aworldofdifference.co.nz
Entries will need to be submitted no later than 5pm on Thursday 28, April.
The award winners will be announced at a special Awards Ceremony to be held in Alexandra, on Thursday 11 August.
