New Zealand Fashion Festival TRESemmé Dream Team Wanted
The TRESemmé search for New Zealand’s next top stylists is open
Hair, makeup, fashion, lights, camera, action. These are the core ingredients of New Zealand Fashion Festival, and TRESemmé is giving hair stylists across the country an opportunity to take part.
As the official hair product and stylists of New Zealand Fashion Festival for the second time, TRESemmé is inviting New Zealand hair stylists, and stylists-to-be, a chance to prove they make the cut for one of eight spots in TRESemmé’s Dream Team at the March 2011 event.
The stand-out stylist from the Dream Team will be chosen to work on a NEXT magazine makeover, with the chance to lock-down a 12 month TRESemmé contract that is on offer.
TRESemmé Dream Team judge, NZFF Magazine Editor and beauty writer Helene Ravlich says New Zealand Fashion Festival is fast gaining recognition as one of the hottest events to hit Auckland, showcasing the country’s best creative talent, and the hair styling team is no exception.
“It’s time to give the unsung Kiwi hair-heroes a chance at the big time, and placing them alongside cutting edge designers provides an ideal platform to shine from”, she says.
Ravlich is joined on the judging panel by industry heavy-weights; creative director Dan Awha, ACP Media’s Fashion & Beauty Director Trudi Brewer and TRESemmé Group Brand Manager Rachel Beattie, with all decisions carefully guided by Eithne Curran who is managing the TRESemmé Dream Team on-site.
There is no doubt the TRESemmé Dream Team wannabes will be scrutinised in this process says TRESemmé’s Rachel Beattie, “we are a professional company and we have to expect 200% of somebody who will potentially represent the brand in New Zealand long-term. The heat is on.”

The competition will take place over five stages:
1) Public Entry (Friday 4th February – Wednesday 16th February)
a. Participate in the TRESemmé Dream Team at www.facebook.com/nzfashionfestival
b. Submit 100 words and three images of own hair style work
i. PRIZE: Become a semi-finalist
2) 20 Semi-finalists announced (Friday 18th February 6pm)
a. Submit a short video of one of three requested looks in the making, showcasing TRESemmé products by Monday 7th March
i. PRIZE: TRESemmé Style pack worth $250 each
3) Public vote (Wednesday 9 March – Monday 14th March)
a. Semi-finalists uploaded to www.facebook.com/nzfashionfestival for public to vote for 40% of final decision
4) TRESemmé Dream Team announced (Wednesday 16th March)
a. Considering public vote, the judging panel will determine winning eight stylists to form the TRESemmé Dream Team
i. PRIZE: Work in the TRESemmé Dream Team at New Zealand Fashion Festival 2011
ii. Transport to and accommodation during the event forms part of this prize.
5) Grand Prize winner announced (Saturday 26th March)
a. Based on judges feedback from New Zealand Fashion Festival activity, the most outstanding stylist will become the TRESemmé Dream Team winner 2011
i. PRIZE: Work on one issue of TRESemmé Great Hair Day Makeover in NEXT magazine
ii. Potential to win a 12 month contract as TRESemmé’s official hair stylist which includes a $10,000 fee payment based on overall feedback
