Flares for training exercise in Wellington

Between the hours of 21:00 and 21:40 hrs tonight the Wellington Coast Guard will be discharging flares for a training exercise.

The Coast Guard vessel will be at the location of the sunken frigate, HMNZS Wellington, just off the southern coast of the North Island (Island Bay)

The flares are emergency flares and will consist of red rocket and parachute type flares.
