A post mortem examination is being carried out on the body found at a Broderick Road house in Johnsonville last night.

The body of the 35 year-old was discovered by his flatmate, around 6:15pm last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton, officer in charge of the investigation, says the body was removed from the address earlier this afternoon and the post mortem examination began soon after. It is likely to take several hours.

"A scene examination continues and around 30 Police investigators and ESR staff are working on this operation."

An area canvas has also begun in and around the vicinity of Broderick Road today.

"We are still urging anyone who was in the Broderick Road area yesterday afternoon, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact Police."

This includes the likes of taxi drivers, courier drivers, delivery drivers, and people who were in the area yesterday afternoon and noted anything suspicious.

Anyone with any information should contact the Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000.
